We love experiencing the holiday magic of Dallas, especially with our furry family members! There are so many fun holiday things to do in Dallas with your dog this holiday season so we hope you enjoy this guide. Happy holidays!
Dallas Holiday Parade
The Dallas Holiday Parade has become a cherished holiday tradition in Dallas. Started in 1988, the parade has grown to receive over 45,000 spectators annually. For pups who do not mind a crowd, this is a great way to kick off the holiday season. The Parade route begins at Commerce and Houston streets on Saturday, December 2nd from 9 am – 11 am. The parade is free to attend or tickets for the bleachers are between $25-$35.
Drive Through 4 Million Lights at Prairie Lights
Prairie Lights is the premier holiday light park in Texas located at Lynn Creek Park on Joe Pool Lake in Grand Prairie, Texas. This is the ultimate family holiday event, as even shy or reactive dogs can participate. Along a 2-mile path, you will be dazzled by 4 million lights from the comfort of your car. Although pets are welcome for the in-car experience, dogs cannot enter Santa’s village if you choose to extend the adventure. In the Holiday Village, there is a magical walk-thru forest, carnival rides, photos with Santa, holiday shopping, and more.
Mainstay Farms Park
If you have ever wanted to cut down your own Christmas tree, visit Mainstay Farm Park just South of Fort Worth. Let your dog sniff out the best tree of the season! This farm is more than just a Christmas tree lot, though. Visits from Santa and classic Texas food options, like brisket nachos and beef burgers are available for purchase. For the adults, don’t forget a glass of Mainstay Farm’s Christmas classic mulled wine, made from their own winery.
Santa’s Village at Huffhines Park
For over 25 years the City of Richardson has hosted Santa’s Village at Huffhines Park. Santa’s Village has delighted children of all ages as they travel from one tiny dwelling to another to experience holiday crafts, treats, and activities, culminating with a visit with St. Nick himself. Bring your dog along for a full family outing. Enjoy holiday-themed performances by local community choirs, dance groups, theaters, and musicians on Prancer’s Stage. If your pup needs more exercise, follow the path among the picturesque pond filled with ducks and geese.
