Halloween is here, with trick-or-treating, scary movies, and, of course, pumpkin spice. To celebrate the spooky season in Sarasota, we’ve combined pumpkin and peanut butter to create some delicious 2025 Halloween dog treat recipes. Whether your pup loves something crunchy, creamy, or chewy (or maybe your puppy would like all three), we’ve got Halloween treats for every pup.
The Crunchy Recipe: Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Cookies
Ingredients
- ½ cup Pumpkin Puree
- ⅓ cup Peanut Butter
- 1 cup Oats
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Blend the peanut butter and pumpkin puree in a bowl until it’s smooth
- Stir in the oats until they’re doughy. You can add water to soften the dough.
- Roll the dough on a parchment paper until it is about ¼ inch thick.
- Cut out the shapes using some Halloween cookie cutters.
- Bake for around 10-15 minutes until the cookies are crispy. Let them cool before your puppy can have them.
The Creamy Recipe: Pumpkin Peanut Butter Mousse
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup peanut butter
- 2–3 tablespoons plain, unsweetened yogurt
- ½ cup pumpkin puree
Instructions
- Blend the yogurt and peanut butter in a bowl, stirring until the texture is smooth
- Spoon the mixture into Halloween-themed silicone molds.
- Add a thin layer of pumpkin puree on top.
- Place the mousse in the refrigerator and chill for a few hours, or until it sets
- Serve to your puppy.
You can sprinkle some dog-safe toppings on top of the pumpkin puree, such as oats, small apple pieces, or blueberries.
Save Some Ice Cubes
You can pour the mouse into an ice tray for some frozen treats. Turning this mousse into a playful seasonal treat. You can watch your dog have fun chasing these frozen treats across the floor.
The Chewy Recipe: Chewy Pumpkin Bites
Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- ½ cup pumpkin puree
- ¼ cup peanut butter
Instructions
- Add the oats, pumpkin puree, and peanut butter to a mixing bowl, then stir until everything is blended.
- Mix into bite-sized balls.
- Arrange these bite-sized balls on a tray or plate, then place them into the fridge for a few hours until firm.
- Serve to your puppy.
