Our Miami Board and Train Programs are personalized around our dog, their behavior, and your training goals. This program is available for families in the Miami and South Florida area, including Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne, Sunny Isles Beach, Palm Beach, and Jupiter.
Throughout the program, we incorporate everyday distractions specific to your dog so that they can easily handle everyday situations! Whether you’re concerned about a more significant behavioral problem or simply want to get started with puppy training, we offer real-life, practical solutions.
Our science-based programs support behavioral wellness by providing lifestyle restoration, helping you regain control over your daily life. We teach high-level obedience skills, socialization training and address problem behaviors, including:
Addressing reactivity and fearful behaviors so your dog is comfortable going on walks and going on adventures with you
Treating separation anxiety behaviors, so your dog is calm when left alone at home, without having potty accidents, resorting to destructive habits, or hurting themselves when attempting to break out of the crate or door.
Reducing touch sensitivity, which helps make everyday life less stressful, such as when picking up your dog, putting on and taking off leashes and collars, and during veterinary and grooming appointments.
Resolving resource guarding behaviors, to address issues including guarding food, toys, people, or other high-value items.
An Immersive Experience
During the Board and Train Retreat, your dog will train and live with co-founders Dr. Kristyn Echterling-Savage and Sean Savage at their home in Tampa Bay, Florida.
Training takes place in a varius distractions that are across many different environments. This includes training sessions at their home, on dog-friendly beaches, in parks, in shopping areas, veterinary visits, on hiking trails, and at restaurants.
Dr. Kristyn Echterling-Savage is a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist (CAAB) and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a PhD in Behavioral Psychology, and Sean Savage is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant. Together, they bring over 50 years of hands-on experience in dog training and behavior modification.
Seamless Transition Back Home
After completing their training, Dr. Echterling-Savage or Sean Savage will return your dog to your home, and provide follow-up lessons with you. These sessions will teach how to manage your dog’s new skills, and how to ensure long-term success from training. We will focus on teaching you how to improve your dog’s behavioral wellness so you can best raise a well mannered and sociable dog both at home and when going out in public.
Not only do we focus our attention on dog training, but we work directly with you! This is a critical piece of each of our training programs. Teaching you gives you the ability to maintain training goals that have been met in a sustainable way. You and your dog are able to communicate with more effectiveness, which allows you both the freedom to have a confident dog who can be comfortable and relaxed both at home and in public.
