Halloween is the time for pumpkin spice, so why not combine pumpkin and peanut butter into a delicious dog treat? The following recipe is great for those wanting to spoil their dogs and avoid them begging for your own Halloween treats.
Below is a recipe to make a fun dog treat with foods they love.
Halloween Dog Treat – Pumpkin and Peanut Butter Cookies
Most dogs love Pumpkin and Peanut Butter, and this recipe combines these flavors into a simple Halloween treat that can be made in 30 minutes. You can use Halloween cookie cutters to spice up these treats for the spooky season.
Ingredients:
½ cup Pumpkin puree
1/3 cup Peanut Butter
1 cup oats or whole wheat flour
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the pumpkin puree and peanut butter in a bowl. Once the pumpkin and peanut butter are mixed, add the oats and stew until a dough is formed. You can periodically mix in some water to soften the dough mix.
Place the dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet and flatten it with a rolling pin. It should be about ¼ inches thick, which is enough to cut out with Halloween-themed cookie cutters.
Bake for approximately 30 minutes until the dog treats are crispy. Wait until the cookies are cool before serving.
