Dallas’ Separation Anxiety Dog Training

Training Philosophy

Dallas’ dogs with separation anxiety will experience a better quality of life after undergoing our life-changing treatment.

Does your dog cry nonstop whenever you leave your Highland Park home? Do they become so anxious that they injure themself or destroy your house? Do you stop yourself from leaving the house, even to just go to the grocery store, so your dog will not be alone? If this sounds like a familiar situation, your dog may have separation anxiety. In Beyond the Dog’s Separation Anxiety Program, one of our Dallas behavior consultants will come directly to your home to modify your dog’s behavior. We want both you and your dog to be comfortable and relaxed whenever you leave the house and our Dallas dog training programs will help you achieve this!

Separation anxiety can be extremely stressful for both you and your dog. Our science-based dog training programs are designed to eliminate anxiety and restore peace to your household. Our team of Dallas behavior consultants is led by approximately one of 50 Certified Applied Animal Behaviorists in the country, Dr. Echterling-Savage. We analyze the latest research in dog behavior to craft our Dallas dog training programs. Our pre-training team will design a personalized treatment plan, using a unique combination of classical conditioning and positive reinforcement. This will create a more positive association with you being away from your pup. This is a functional approach that we created after treating cases of separation anxiety over the years. Treating your dog’s separation anxiety is a lifelong investment that can significantly increase both your and your dog’s quality of life.

22-Hour Separation Anxiety Dog Training Program

$3,960
Our All-Inclusive Training Program is for Dallas dog owners looking to treat their dog’s separation anxiety. We want you to be able to leave your home knowing your dog will be calm and comfortable while you go about your daily life.

The All-Inclusive program will reduce and eliminate separation anxiety leading to long-term happiness and health for you and your dog. This program is designed to treat separation behaviors such as:

  • Excessive barking, whining, or salivation whenever not in the owner’s presence
  • Defecating and urinating in the crate or home when left alone
  • Scratching or biting at the door or crate
  • Destroying property when left alone

Our Dallas behavior consultants are qualified and ready to help with separation anxiety. Led by Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist, Dr. Echterling-Savage, Beyond the Dog uses the most up-to-date behavioral research to treat separation anxiety. In this multistep program, we use a unique combination of classical conditioning and proprietary treatment to teach your dog that good things happen outside of your presence. In addition, personalized management is implemented to teach your dog to be independent. Over the course of the program, your dog is left alone for longer and is happy to eat while you are away, leading to a happier life for everyone. Research has shown that counterconditioning is an effective treatment method for separation anxiety as seen in a 2022 study by Zurlinden et al., which examined levels of barking in kenneled dogs when left alone at the shelter. “Separation anxiety negatively affects the quality of life for not only dogs but their owners. Seeing the stress fade away for both is at the heart of what we do. Our unique protocols do just that!” stated our Co-Founder Sean Savage.

The All-Inclusive Program for Separation Anxiety encompasses 20 training sessions across five intensive weeks with two follow-up sessions spanning a total of 22 training sessions over eight weeks! After you submit your training contract and Indirect Assessment of Canine Behavior, our pre-training team, led by Dr. Echterling-Savage, uses the information provided to craft your personalized dog training program. Then, your trainer will put your training plan into action! In the All-Inclusive Training Program, your trainer works with your dog four days per week, Monday to Thursday, for five weeks. At the conclusion of the five-week program, two follow-up sessions are scheduled to ensure your progress is maintained. Please note that our indirect behavior assessments will confirm your dog’s behavior and goals. If your dog’s training program requires additional oversight from our Animal Behavior Experts, a small additional fee may be required.

Most insurance companies such as Trupanion will cover behavioral training when under the direction of a CAAB or a Board Certified Vet Behaviorist. Be sure to check with your provider to see if they will cover the cost of separation anxiety dog training.
