Although the weather still feels like summer, we are ready to celebrate fall with some amazing things to do with your dog in Dallas! There are a number of fur-friendly festivals coming up right here in Texas’ canine capital. If you are looking for a fun way to fill your weekend, check out these dog-friendly festivals this fall. 

Wags and Waves 2023

When: Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Where: Hawaiian Waters Garland at 4550 N Garland Ave, Garland, TX 75040

Splash along with your pup in multiple pool areas for one special day. On September 23rd, Hawaiian Waters opens their gates to friends, furry and human. Chase waves and tennis balls in the wave pool, float along the lazy river, and shop vendors for pets and people. Wags and Waves is brought to you by and benefitting local rescue and animal welfare groups: Cat Matchers, DFW Rescue Me, DFW’s Furgotten Friends, and The Love Pit.

DogFest DFW

When: Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm

Where: The Sound at Cypress Waters at 3111 Olympus Boulevard, Coppell, TX 75019

DogFest is a family and dog-friendly festival including music, fun games and activities, vendors, and more. This event celebrates the human-canine bond and the joy dogs bring to our lives while raising funds and awareness for non-profit Canine Companions. Plus, what better time to celebrate than the end of National Service Dog Month!

Lola’s Pugapalooza

When: Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Where: Harvest House at 331 E Hickory St, Denton, TX, 76201

Lola’s Pugapalooza at Harvest House is hosting a fall festival. Bring your fur babies and the whole family! There will be local vendors, pet vendors, food, and live music. They will also host a doggy costume contest for the four-legged friends.

Pawtober Fest

When: Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

Where: Huffhines Park at 1500 Apollo Rd., Richardson, TX 75081

Huffhines Harvest Festival is featuring Pawtoberfest this year. Formerly known as Huffhines Art Trails, this event is a two-day festival held outdoors in Richardson, Texas, just minutes north of Dallas. Celebrating its 47th anniversary, the show has grown since the beginning to become one of the best arts and crafts shows in North Texas and has become a tradition for many! On Saturday the festival will host Pawtoberfest, a unique opportunity for attendees and furry friends to enjoy the festival together with pet-friendly activities such as pet parades, ball hunts, and costume contests!

Puptopia Dallas

When: Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

Where: Carpenter Park at 2201 Pacific Ave, Dallas, TX 75201

This dog-centered festival is full of experiences just for you and your dog. This amazement park features a pawground, K-9 lounge, spaw, pupformances, tons of vendors, and other pup-friendly events. This traveling show is heading to Dallas at the end of October.

Preston Trail Farms

When: September 16th, 2023 – November 22nd 2023 from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm everyday

Where: 15102 TX-289 Gunter, TX 75078

Preston Trail Farms hosts one of Dallas’ only dog-friendly pumpkin patches for fall-themed fun for the entire family! Go pumpkin picking, feed the barn animals, enjoy the hay ride, and make your way through the hay maze.

Dallas Farmers Market

When: Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Sunday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

Where: 920 S Harwood St, Dallas, TX 75201

Shop local with your pup in the heart of downtown Dallas! All products from the Dallas Farmers Market are grown and raised within Texas or 400 miles of Dallas. Choose from seasonal produce, artisan pantry staples, homemade arts, pumpkins for fall, and so much more!

Fall Photo Shoot 

The slightly cooler temperatures and changing leaves make fall one of our favorite times of the year for a family photo shoot! Pack some treats, coordinate outfits, grab a few props, and visit one of our favorite hiking spots for the perfect fall photo shoot with your dog. We especially love the nature of Cedar Ride Preserve and Arbor Hills Nature Preserve.
