Check out these areas with your dog to view seasonal Houston wildflowers!

Buffalo Bayou Park

1800 Allen Pkwy &, Memorial Dr. Houston, TX 77019

Buffalo Bayou offers many areas in which bluebonnet and wildflowers can be found.  This is a great place to take pictures and hang out with family, friends, and fur friends.  The best places to get the best views are near Flora Mexican Kitchen, Jackson Hill Bridge, and the South bank of Buffalo Bayou. Buffalo Bayou park stretches quite a ways across Central Houston so we know you’ll be able to find a great photo spot AND get in a great walk with your dog! You can also find their very own Johnny Steele Dog Park hidden down along the trail, 10/10 recommended!

Trainer Tip: If you are going on a busy afternoon or a Saturday, get there early or plan to be there ahead of schedule as parking can be quite limited. There are nearby streets that offer free street parking with just a bit of walking.

Alongside the beautiful trails, there are lake and garden areas, tennis courts and a large gold course. Memorial has recently opened up their newest expansion to the park, the Eastern Glades. This area consists of new dog friendly trails, view-only lakes, and if you catch it on the right night of the week, food trucks! We are confident during the spring season, there will be plenty of wildflower options for you to choose from.

The area has many shaded trails, a view-only lake, and weekly educational events that can be enjoyed by all! Some events are not dog friendly. One event we know IS dog friendly here is the annual St. Arnold’s PupCrawl, a must do! The name of this place says it all, and depending on the time of year, you can see a multitude of wildflower species and plenty of photo opportunities. Check out their website for more seasonal information.
