Valentine's Day Cupcakes for Dogs

With Valentine’s day just around the corner, we wanted to search out a recipe that was not only safe, but also dog-gone good. We came across a Red Velvet “pupcake” recipe courtesy of Rover.com, and we just had to try it for ourselves! Well, or at least our trainer’s pups were eager to get to taste testing.

The cake and frosting consists of dog friendly ingredients such as strawberries, applesauce, nonfat yogurt, cream cheese, and blueberries and makes up to 48 mini cupcakes. Perfect to share with all of your furry friends!

The cupcakes take about 35 minutes total to prepare and bake. If you don’t have mini cupcake tins you can use a regular muffin tin with 12 spots which will yield 12 cupcakes if you follow the amounts used in the recipe.

Our trainer’s pup, Nola, loved these cupcakes! She got to lick the spoon and snuck in a strawberry. Strawberries a great healthy snack for dogs because they contain antioxidants, vitamin C, and can even help whiten your dog’s pearly whites. You can chop up little bits of strawberry into the icing or place some slices on top!

Overall, we loved this recipe and recommend it to anyone wanting to make Valentine’s Day a little sweeter for their fur baby!

You can find the official recipe on their website.
