Valentine's Day Dog Cupcakes

This recipe is super fun and easy for everyone to help make! We hope you enjoy making them as much as we did!

As always, we recommend discussing with your veterinarian before feeding anything to your dog. This (and many other) recipes contain peanuts, eggs, dairy and may not be appropriate for all dogs.

Please note: chocolate and xylitol ARE DEADLY FOR DOGS!

When it comes to sweetening your treats, NEVER use chocolate or xylitol. Both are highly toxic to dogs and just a little could be deadly. Many peanut butters also contain xylitol so please always double check the label before giving it your pup.

  • 2 very ripe bananas
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 3 cups oat or whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder (you can omit this if you want, your pupcakes will just be dense)
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Frosting Recipe

  • 1 medium banana (mashed)
  • 4 Tbsp peanut butter
  • Frosting Recipe – peanut butter free alternative!
  • 1½ cups greek yogurt
  • 4 oz low fat cream cheese room temperature
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)

  • Cupcake baking tray
  • Valentine’s day cupcake wrappers
  • Piping bag (or a ziplock bag)
  • Ice cream/cookie scooper (optional)
  • Instructions for making homemade dog treat cupcakes

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Place cupcake liners in the cupcake tray. Lightly spray with non-stick spray (for easy removal of cupcake liners later)
  • Mix wet ingredients in separate bowls first, then mix together with the dry. It will be sticky and thick.
  • Scoop the batter in the lined cupcake tray. Fill almost to the top, about ¾ full (don’t worry, it will not rise much)
  • Bake for 20 mins or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
  • Let cool before frosting
  • While pupcakes are cooling, whip frosting ingredients in a separate bowl
  • Put your frosting mix into the piping or ziplock bag
  • Twist bag closed and swirl the frosting on top of the cupcake

Feed to your pup!
