Downtown Austin is renowned for its dog-friendly atmosphere, whether you’re taking a stroll through Zilker Botanical Garden with your dog or grabbing a meal at one of its many outdoor patios, like Cosmic Coffee. This hospitality extends to many of its hotels, making it easy to enjoy what Downtown Austin offers with your dog by your side.
We’ve compiled the following list of dog-friendly hotels in Downtown Austin so you can enjoy more. Please always inform the hotel in advance if you’ll be bringing your dog along.
Best Western Central Austin
Address: 919 E Koenig Ln, Austin, TX 78751
Just 2 miles from Downtown Austin, Best Western offers convenient access to dog-friendly restaurants such as “Woof and Work” and the Lady Bird Lake dog-friendly trail, ensuring you and your pet can easily explore the city.
They are dog and cat-friendly, with two pets allowed per room. There is an 80 lbs weight limit for large-breed dogs.
Best Western charges a $30 pet fee daily, with a maximum charge of $150 a week. At check-in, they may also ask for a refundable deposit of $150 for your pet.

Hyatt Place Austin Downtown
Address: 211 E 3rd St, Austin, TX 78701
Located in the lively Downtown Austin, this spot is just a mile from the University of Texas campus, three blocks from the buzzing 6th Street entertainment district, and only a block from the Austin Convention Center.
This dog-friendly hotel accepts two dogs per room. The combined weight limit for two dogs is 75 lbs; no dog can exceed 50 lbs. Cats are not allowed to stay at the Hyatt.
The Hyatt does not charge a refundable pet fee, but there is a $100 pet fee for the first six days, with a $200 fee for over seven days.

Hotel Indigo
Address: University, an IHG Hotel, 810 Red River St, Austin, TX 78701
Hotel Indigo is located in Austin’s famous Red River cultural district, a short distance from the Texas Capitol Austin Convention Center. It is also a 10-minute walk to the Moonshine Patio Bar and Grill, a dog-friendly restaurant.
Located in Downtown Austin, Hotel Indigo allows two dogs per room, with a weight limit of 40 lbs per dog. Cats are not allowed at Hotel Indigo.
Hotel Indigo charges a refundable pet fee of $75 per stay and a nonrefundable pet fee of $75.

The Westin Austin Downtown

The Westin is located near 6th Street, offering a variety of food trucks, country bars, and a 7-minute walk to the “Caroline” restaurant, which has dog-friendly patio seating.
The Westin allows one dog per room, with a weight limit of 70 lbs. There are no additional pet fees.
Westin offers a dog bed for their stay, a dog bowl, waste bags, dog “beer,” and treats from a local bakery. They also offer a “wag Westin” map providing information on nearby dog-friendly trails and other exciting locations, ensuring your pet feels as pampered as you do during your stay.

Hilton Gardens
The Hilton Gardens is two blocks from 6th Street and the Austin Convention Center, five minutes from the Red River Cultural Center, and a 7-minute walk from the dog-friendly restaurant Stella San Jac, which has outdoor seating.
The Hilton Gardens allows two pets per room and is cat-friendly. The weight limit for dogs is 75 lbs. There is a $50 pet fee for the stay.
